Today, I neglected my Outlier clan duties at Kongregate for several hours, opting to play Jungle Wars on the developer's website (tensquaregames.com).
I discovered some things that would surprise those who play on Kongregate and Armor.
(1) The play was the most stable I have experienced. After three hours, there were no OOPS errors, no screen freezes, no jiggly screens, no mouse pointer mapping errors. When on Kong or Armor, I thought these might be Flash errors on my box or server issues at the host. At the parent site, everything worked as you wanted it to. Note: there is no way I could ever play a stable game of Jungle Wars on Armor or Kong for three hours. Not even for one hour.
(2) The chat was entirely in Polish today, although on other days I have seen bits of German now and then. I can't read Polish but I can spot the number 11 and saw no reference to (Totem) 11. It made me wonder if there was a Totem 11 issue on the hosted sites but no such issue on the parent site (tensquaregames.com).
(3) The parent site (tensquaregames.com) does not offer instant point-and-click access to Jungle Wars. You have to scroll through many of their games to choose the one you want to play and Jungle Wars is far down on the list. This suggests that it is an older game. It supports our Kong/Armor suspicions that is has low or no development priority.
(4) Let me repeat that in 3 hours I did not reboot. That is impossible on Kong or Armor. (Moreso on Kong than Armor, however.)
(5) The playing screen on the parent site has an unusual feature. Take a look at the upper right corner.
Support! Wow. You can enter complaints in the form that comes up when you click SUPPORT.
I think this is where we have to make our complaints -- if they even apply to the game (rather than the third party host). Not on Kong, not on Armor, here. They ask for your email. Maybe you'll get an email response!
Be polite. They may have no idea of our frustrations using third party distributors of their games.
My Tensquare experience makes me wonder if upgrades and patches on third party sites (like Kong and Armor) cost the developer money and are postponed or canceled for that reason.
(As always, your comments welcome.)
Not true.. Same errors occur at JW...I have a screen grab from user at JW confirming as such
