Jungle Wars: How I reduced errors

I have lost many games in the last month due to errors. Here are some recent steps to error-proof my game. (The car below seems error proof too.)

1. When attacking and when the clouds didn't open, I rebooted too soon or opened the game in a new tab. After I left the clouds behind, they would open while I was gone and I would forfeit. I would get a loss like the one Morbidchicken showed in my last post.

I used to count to 20 before leaving the clouds. Now, I wait a full minute before giving up on the clouds. Again and again, they open long after I expected. Those forfeits do not happen anymore.

2. When attacking, I get impatient with deployments. To speed the attack, I often click the mouse as fast as possible (to start I am sending warriors against a golem - I need speed). This would cause the screen to freeze. I could never learn this lesson.

Now, when I deploy attackers, I click nice and slow. Once in awhile, the screen will freeze later in the attack but by that time I am not clicking and I have won 50% or more. No harm done.

3. My Firefox was very unstable for a very long time. The operating system would ask me "Do you want to stop this script." If that happens during attack it's a loss.

Today, I went to the Firefox Add-ons tab. I added Flash (no update - just add) and the browser stabilized. Great outcome!

4. We Outliers play on Kong and I never had Kong+, which removes advertisements. My browser (Chrome) has been very unstable. It shakes. It crashes. For some reason, Kong today awarded me one year of Kong+ for free. There is a huge difference in playing with Kong+.

I used to reboot the browser after every two attacks. After two browser reboots, I would have to reboot the computer itself. This was my only route to stability. Now with Kong+, I can play for hours without errors. I think the advertisements put a strain on Flash.

If I am correct, the instability in Jungle Wars is not a developer problem, it is a Kong effect.

Jungle Wars: How could this happen?

Morbidchicken posted this at Armor Games and take a look at the number of cups awarded. How could this be?

What can happen in this game is that you deploy part of your army in an attack and then (before you reach 50% victory) the screen freezes or the Oops! error happens. You close the screen, refresh the browser and everything looks normal.

It is not normal because the error made your attack fail. The number of cups shows the total of what it was before the error but the next time you attack, the loss will be deducted.

In other words, if your attack fails because of program error, you will pay the price in cups sooner or later.

Tomorrow, I will post on some tricks and tips that help me avoid screen freeze and Oops!
