What can happen in this game is that you deploy part of your army in an attack and then (before you reach 50% victory) the screen freezes or the Oops! error happens. You close the screen, refresh the browser and everything looks normal.
It is not normal because the error made your attack fail. The number of cups shows the total of what it was before the error but the next time you attack, the loss will be deducted.
In other words, if your attack fails because of program error, you will pay the price in cups sooner or later.
