Jungle Wars: Not all hitpoints are equal

If you have ever built a Tower of Magic you noticed something in the description:

Rhinos are most prone to damage from this weapons platform, this puny tower that deals out 25 damage. Look at the Rhino's hitpoints.

Let's see, the tower deals 25 damage, the rhino has 2500 hitpoints, so the tower would have to hit the rhino 100 times to kill it, except that it gets a premium for hits on rhinos.

But it's not just about Towers of Magic. Against many systems, the rhino's hitpoints are hollow. The rhino is weaker than advertised because not all hitpoints are equal.

Not only is the rhino more susceptible to extra damage from the Tower of Magic (as declared above), it is susceptible to extra damage from various undeclared sources. If you've ever deployed the rhino, it conks out much sooner than it should. It seems to putter a long the length of a large base taking hits from slinger towers and other light weapons until it goes out of action.

Some of the hits it is taking are not 1 damage = 1 hitpoint.

But rhinos are exotic. Few use them. Everyone has used warriors, spiders and slingers. In your experience, do you feel one hitpoint equals the same value across all three of those unit types?

I think spiders and slingers are weaker not only because of FEWER hitpoints but because of the QUALITY of those hitpoints.

I suggest not all hitpoints are equal.
