Jungle Wars: Gorilla upgrades, worth it?

So here is the basic gorilla with values at level 1.

Here is the same at max upgrade:

Is it worth it? Notice that the punishment the ape takes increases much but the attacking power not so much.

The gorilla is in an "arms race" against the firing platforms that are gorilla attack priority #1, so the increase in hitpoints is important. The highest level gorilla can take a few hits from the second-highest rated mortar, and that's worthwhile.

I think most players would agree that gorilla upgrades are worth it, almost a "no brainer."
